Flesh and Mind

She’s heavy breasted,
brash suggestion,
a silk war with his flesh...
a liar’s tongue preaching
salvation is sin.

Poems shape shift on her lips,
erotic stanzas burning resist
from roped muscles on his thighs.

There’s no escape in the blind
mirror of closed eyes…Her fingertips
paint tremors that erase every
image his mind holds that’s not her.

She’s ice skating him through hell
to see how long it will take
for his conscience to melt.

  1. WOWW!💖 This is incredibly dark and suggestive in its portrayal of the desires of the human flesh. Especially love; "Poems shape shift on her lips, erotic stanzas burning resist from roped muscles on his thighs." Thank you so much for adding your voice to the prompt 💖☕

  2. You paint a picture of a most predatory lover. The comparison is very astute in demonstrating how the very notion of love is often misunderstood or abused... quite something to place one's mind, body and soul in the hands of another.

  5. Such a great image of a dark lover... maybe there are cases when you are doomed.

  6. Wow! So glad you went the erotic route; this is hot stuff! (Albeit - or because of – the suggestions of evil.)

  7. Love it Susie. I've written a "Vogen Poem" and it's waiting for the right day. Yours might qualify. :-) [Please don't be angry, this one is tough.]

Beautiful close Susie! You are blessed with good poetry sense with your words. It is very apparent in all of your earlier postings. Hank enjoyed them all in awe of your gifted talents, Ma'am!

  9. I like the way you’ve played with an old phrase in your title, Susie, and with sensual imagery - dark and sinister. I especially admire the lines:

    ‘brash suggestion,
a silk war with his flesh’

    and

    ‘erotic stanzas burning resist
from roped muscles on his thighs’.

    The final stanza is brilliant!
