Ink View

The verses at first read appear
to be an innocuous attempt
to bridge the social-political divide
of us verses them.

Satire can be a twisted clown,
when it’s read as intended…with humor
or within easy reach of a definition.

Verses read or verses read…
It depends on your view of the ink.

  2. This is incredibly profound, Susie!❤️ Yes, it all depends on our view and perspective.

  3. Understanding (and appreciating) is, indeed, a matter of perspective. Versing is such a person thing...

  4. I wonder if a verse is ever complete without the perfect reader.

  6. I like your lines, "Satire can be a twisted clown, when it’s read as intended." Often we are misunderstood when we use satire.

  8. I love the sharpness of these lines, Susie:
‘Satire can be a twisted clown’
    and
‘It depends on your view of the ink’.
You've reminded us that poetry is an exchange between poet and reader.

  9. Ooh, such a delectable write! I love all the pointed metaphors along with the wordplay in this clever verse. Now, I will be thinking of all the "verses" for a while. :-)

  10. The cigar made you sick. I did that to my little sister, she tried to smoke with me down at the creek but got sick right away. She tells in several ways that she once smoked but has quit. :) We didn't get caught for a long time (another story, not painful but insulting).
