It won’t happen again until it will.
How much second will kill first?
Chaos keeps fuel in gaslighting’s wick.

Stapled into standing up
when the liar gets new verbs
memory sings like the 60’s and frets
about history that’s never learned.

Cataract flower children tell stories
to ears that won’t listen… four died in Ohio.

  1. Tin soldiers and Nixon re-cloned coming, indeed. This is musical in its harsh and frightening way--every day another shock, til death itself may not be enough to open anyone's eyes...as you say, 'Chaos keeps fuel in gaslighting’s wick...' while us cataracted ones look back and wonder how it all can unravel and replay the worst of us again so soon. A very fine 55, Susie, and I wish I could say it goes too far, but I can't.Thanks so much for playing and for making us see the past (*and* the all-too dismal present.)

Can there be a solution when it keeps happening? One would like to avoid such sad episodes, Susie but are just overwhelmed!

  3. The last line nailed it. So sad and yet so true and raw.

  5. memory sings like the 60’s... except to a generation that hasn't the will to protest.
