Ghosted by Poetry

Words have been
quiet in me.

Not all words,
anger always
finds its voice.

It stomps
on my brain
hoping to reach
my tongue.

Poetry has
ghosted me.
I beg for text
a smiling word,
a heart that
doesn’t bleed,
but my pen has
found another poet.

Wars, billionaires,
death, hunger…
Are there any
new verses
to describe it?

Gilded Math

In the dark sky of skin
and revelers of bone
beasts with gold
harvest air to force
the poor to do their bidding.

One potato feeds four,
two will feed a village
in the 1% Society of the Gilded.

When the stock market falls
greed gets anxious, so the bull
stalks “gray hair” for bleeding.

New Age of The Robbin' Rich

Morning shrinks into headlines
black lettering another day
into the shrinking wallet woe.

Politicians sing their hallelujahs
into an empty cup and dream raped
millions gather stones for the reckoning.

Speech is free until the disagree…The constitution
crawls through the swamp of bloated purchased
crying foul, but red letters claim Jesus doesn’t like the print.

Merry demands its holy and Happy opens its arms.
Welcome to the New Age of The Robbin’ Rich and the foot army
of dime strained dreams… January dust pans its glitter.
