There's Something in the Water

In the river of moons

the voice of a raven

guides mortals

to the path of light.

Dancing out of shadows

mystics part the cerulean curtain

with palms filled with stars

to feed visions.

The bloated corpse of narrow minds

opens its tongue of wounds

to release treasured thorns

into the eye of revelation.

Luna winks her cloudless eye to stir

watered stones to sing the song of knowing

into ears that must listen and weigh

every word before they speak.

  1. Susie, I like your winking Luna. Our minds feed on many inputs, I say the Full Moon makes me bite women on their necks. (BTW, I did see one small cloud in the sky's reflection.)

  2. Powerful is poetry and words my friend. You have shown it magnificently here! There is many a mortal that needs to be guided to that path of light!

  4. "...the voice of a raven // guides mortals // to the path of light."

Foolish of mortals to trust such a duplicitous guide, saith the crow.

  5. each stanza utters like the voice in the wilderness or an unheeded Cassandra - wonderful imaginative response to the prompt Susie

  12. Mr crow foes carry the wisdom of ages, and Mr moon carries the sadness. Much to ne learned from both. Liked this Susie!

  13. That may be a forlorn hope. So many have no ears at all.

    And so true this:

"into ears that must listen and weigh
    every word before they speak"
